About Us

Our highly trained and college-awarded instructors have a wealth of experience in teaching and performing in various styles and disciplines across the globe. We believe that the skills learned at Roc  Dance are valuable in all walks of life.  We pride ourselves in helping to develop confident, polished and professional individuals, with students that have continued their education in the arts at top ranking colleges across the country.

Our studio is conveniently located on Ridge Road in Webster, New York just off route 104 and I-590. We offer our dancers a 700 sq. ft., air conditioned dance studio, equipped with sprung Marley flooring,  floor length mirrors with both wall mounted and free standing ballet barres.  

Our reception area offers a comfortable area to wait for your dancer, or meet with one of our instructors in the office. There is a separate private changing area for students to safely store their belongings, prepare for class or to complete homework in between classes.

Meet the Owners

Ms. Charlotte

Hometown:

York, England

Education:

Charlotte began her training at the 'Buckley school of dance' at the age of 3, and progressed through her BBO (British Ballet Organization) and RAD (Royal Academy of Dance) examinations in Ballet, Tap and Jazz to an advanced level. She continued her education at York College studying Musical Theater before successfully auditioning and attending Bird College of Dance and Theater Performance in London, England. She graduated with BA Honors Degree in Dance and Theater Performance in 2012.

Experience:

Charlotte has performed in a variety of musicals and productions ranging in style in London and around the UK: ‘Curtains’, ‘The Producers’, Allstar Performance Company, & ‘Chicago’ staring as Roxie Hart & as member of the ensemble. Charlotte has enjoyed choreographing large production numbers, Musical Theater numbers for Mercy High School, and her choreography has been highly awarded at dance competitions across the USA.

What she loves most about teaching:

“ Whether our students pursue a professional career in the arts or not, I know that the skills and disciplines they learned at our studio will serve them well through life. I love that I have the opportunity to influence and shape the next generation of dancers, and watching them set sail for a lifetime of success will always bring me joy”


Ms. Krista

Hometown:

 Rochester, NY

 Education

 Krista began her training at Little Red Dance Studio here in Rochester, NY. Later she graduated Cum Laude from SUNY Purchase College with her Bachelors in the Fine Arts in Dance in 2012. She has also studied with River North Dance Chicago and The Conservatorio Superior de Danza de Madrid in Madrid, Spain. 

 Experience:

Krista has had the opportunity to have been cast in works by Lar Lubovitch, Merce Cunningham, Nelly von Bommel, Jason Parsons, and Michael Brown. Other performance credits include The 25th Anniversary of American Classical Orchestra, and the International Choreography Competition in Burgos, Spain. For three years Krista worked at sea with Princess Cruise Lines where she performed in shows by Liz Imperio, Danny Teeson, Gene Castle, and Karen Bruce. Most recently, Krista was an apprentice with LehrerDance where she performed "A Ritual Dynamic" at The Fourth of July Celebration at Canalside, and appeared as a guest artist with New York State Ballet's production of Peter Pan where she danced the role of Tiger Lily. Her choreography has been selected to be shown at demonstrations in and around Manhattan, and has been recognized and awarded by national competitions. 

 What she loves most about teaching:

 “I love helping students reach their full potential, and getting to see the joy it brings them when they succeed.”

Meet the Faculty

Mr. James    Hometown:   Rochester, NY   Education   James, a Rochester native, began his dance training at age eight. He is trained in multiple techniques including; ballet, Jazz, Modern and Tap dance as well as stage combat. James graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BFA in Dance from the University at Buffalo. Besides dance, James is currently in his clinical phase of education at the New York Chiropractic College where he is earning his Doctorate in Chiropractic medicine. He also serves as the National Chair for the Student American Chiropractic Association.   Experience:   Some of his professional dance credits include; River North Dance Chicago, Lockport City Ballet, Buffalo City Ballet, New York State Ballet and production member with Princess Cruise lines. James has also served as a choreographer for the New York State Ballet’s productions of Peter Pan, The Raven and A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Besides   What he loves most about teaching:   “ I get to spend time with amazing and committed students and watch as they grow and learn and know that I had a hand in their development. It's a feeling that is entirely unique to teaching and helping others to achieve their goals and to become bette is something that I look forward to each and every week!”

Mr. James

Ms. Michelle    Hometown:   Rochester, NY   Education   Michelle began her training at Dance Training Center here in Greece, NY. Alongside her college studies and teaching at Roc Dance Michelle works with children at the YMCA in Webster as a before and after school daycare leader. Michelle also assists as an after school teachers aid at St. Rita’s School in Webster.

What she loves most about teaching:

I love teaching and sharing with my students the experiences that made me the dancer I am today. Being able to unlock potential and confidence in my students is a really rewarding feeling and I love seeing my students improve and grow!

Ms. Mia

Education

Mia began her training at Spezio’s Dance Dynamics in Buffalo, attending regular technique classes from a young age. She later went on to compete & perform in her studio’s elite competition team, traveling to nationals and competitions working with notable choreographers such as Blake McGrath, Nick Young & Duncan Cooper. Mia is in her 1st year of studies at University of Buffalo studying a BFA in Dance.

Experience:

Alongside her college studies Mia is a member of the faculty at Spezios Dance Dynamics and has been teaching since the young age of 16, choreographing group routines, solos and duets for the elite competition team. Mia continues to be selected to perform in UB College performances.

What she loves most about teaching:

“Dance has been a huge part of my life and has brought me so many wonderful memories, lifelong friends and opportunities such as teaching. Sharing my passion for dance and watching the moments and memories unfold with my students as a teacher is really special.
